The benefits of our nasal strip
Snoring is the sound of your mouth doing your nose's job. In a controlled trial of congested snorers, a nasal dilator cut snoring frequency by about 33% against a dummy strip. The band holds that same airway open, all night.

One nostril always feels blocked. Widen the nasal valve and the effort of breathing through your nose drops. In a congested nose, a dilator strip cut nasal resistance by about 33%. That is the whole job of the band.

You do not have to wake up to lose sleep. In a four-week randomised trial, people using a nasal dilator strip reported better sleep and less daytime impairment than the control group. Clear the nose and you cut the quiet interruptions you never feel.

Sleep and mood run on the same wire. Pooling years of long-term studies, people with insomnia were around 2x as likely to become depressed over time. The band won't fix your mood. Steadier sleep is just where a steadier day starts.

Push hard and you bail to mouth breathing, and you skip the work your nose was doing. It warms air toward body temperature, around 34°C deeper in the nose, and nearly saturates it with moisture before it reaches your lungs. The band keeps that nasal route the easy option when you train.
| Your nose does this | Every breath |
|---|---|
| Warms the air | close to body heat |
| Adds moisture | almost fully humidified |

Sleep with your mouth open and it dries out by morning, and saliva is your overnight defence. In adults, inflamed gums healed at just 38% of mouth breathers' dried-out sites, against 69% of everyone else. Breathe through your nose and your mouth stays closed and moist.

Breathe through your nose and your sinuses release nitric oxide, a gas that helps widen blood vessels and that the mouth route skips entirely. Slow, gentle nasal breathing raised it many times over, up to 15x when humming. The band doesn't make nitric oxide. Your nose does. It just keeps that route open.

The nights you cut sleep short are the nights you catch what is going around. When healthy people were exposed to a live cold virus, those sleeping under five hours were about 4.5x as likely to fall ill. No strip fights a virus. But easier breathing helps you sleep, and better sleep is one thing you can do something about.

The aira band opens your nasal airway mechanically. It is not a treatment for snoring, sleep apnoea, chronic congestion, or a structural problem, and it does not replace medical care. If you think you have any of those, see your doctor. Figures on these pages are schematic representations of reported results.
